Materials Planning Manager ( MP&L)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
MP&L Manager is responsible for materials planning, scheduling, procurement and final delivery to the customer. Must ensure the availability of minimum inventory level of direct materials for production. Review customer schedules well in advance and do production planning/scheduling and achieve 100% delivery performance with customers. Able to support and participate in continuous improvement with respect to cost and delivery. Demonstrate a spirit of teamwork and cooperation to improve overall plant performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion, safely, professionally and efficiently to achieve companys objectives.
Responsible for materials planning, scheduling, contracting with supplier and making sure the availability of minimum inventory level at any time.
Liaison with customers materials department, answering queries on time, achieving 100% delivery performance by coordinating with production department internally.
Responsible for reviewing customer schedules in advance and doing appropriate planning of materials for production.
Evaluate customer scheduling and coordinate daily weekly monthly production planning to ensure customer requirements are met.
Evaluate suppliers performance on a regular basis and initiate actions for continuous improvement.
Communicate supplier issues promptly to resolve on time.
Organize and do daily meetings with production team to review / discuss / advise changes on customer EDI releases and monitor FG inventory for shipment for 2 consecutive weeks
Maintaining and reviewing records of inventories, product performance, delivery performance
Tracking, reporting key functional metrics and taking effective measures to reduce expenses, inventory level, cost reduction and cost avoidance through continuous improvements.
Conduct physical inventory periodically per company norm, investigate discrepancies and initiate appropriate corrective actions, and provide reports to the supervisor
Establish and maintain the FIFO process.
Create and process purchase orders/contracts, scheduling agreements in MRP-SAP
Communicating schedules/releases/forecasts to the suppliers well in advance
Manage customs clearance, coordinate with freight forwarding and custom brokers
Monitor and manage availability of returnable customer dunnage/WIP internal packaging
Do research on benchmarking on set goals and drive continuous improvements
Make sure timely update of material receipt and production orders into SAP
Responsible for taking corrective action on customer delivery issues, packaging issues
Responsible to achieve departmental objectives / measurable
Purchasing of MRO items consumables required for production
Maintain minimum quantity of FG on all products per company norms
QUALIFICATION AND KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelors degree / associate degree in supply chain management, business administration, Procurement & logistics, engineering, or any other related field
Proven track record working as MP&L manager in tier1/tier2 manufacturing automotive parts
8 to 12 years of working experience, including dealing with multinational suppliers
Must be able to create BOM, Routing Structure, set up production orders routings, Scheduling agreements, JIT releases in SAP
Experience in handling automotive OEMs' customer communications
Familiarity with supply chain process, sourcing, and supplier management
Interest in market dynamics, along with business sense
A knack for negotiation and networking
Ability to gather and analyze data and to work with figures
Solid judgment, along with decision-making and problem-solving skills
Strong leadership capabilities
Must be a self-starter able to take on projects with very little direction
Capable of multitasking
Experience with Microsoft Excel
Excellent written, verbal, communication skills and interpersonal skills
Strong sense of time management and urgency
Must be able to train, assist, lead, direct, instruct, and discipline employees
Experience in IATF-16949 Quality Management System and Internal audits preferred
Ability to manage and navigate unexpected challenges with a focus on rapidly finding solutions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sitting, squatting, walking, and bending 8 10 hours per day
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Must be able to work in different weather conditions
Exposure to the production environment

Must wear Personal Protective Equipment when in a production area
