Job Summary The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of heavy cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas of the hospital. They perform cleaning and floor refinishing functions following established protocols to achieve quality standards and facility objectives; operate a variety of floor care equipment and other necessary tools, products and supplies; gather and dispose of trash and waste materials. Essential Functions Place linen on distribution carts. Fold and stage scrub sets for stocking in Scrub Ex machines. Clean and organize linen room. Fill requisitions for housekeeping supplies, deliver and replenish nursing unit supply closets. Stage Housekeeper carts with supplies, chemicals and mops; deliver and stock in designated storage areas. Dust mop floors and corridors as assigned. Inspect cleaning equipment and perform scheduled preventative maintenance. Participate in patient safety rounding; monitor patient for signs of distress; alert nursing personnel when intervention or clinical monitoring is required. Maintain hard surface floors by following the correct processes for daily and periodical floor care; evaluate the necessary process to maintain hard surface floors to organizational standards; follow correct stripping and refinishing procedures; inspect cleaning equipment and perform scheduled preventative maintenance. Maintain soft surface floors (carpet) by following the correct processes for daily and periodical carpet care; evaluate the necessary process to maintain carpets; be knowledgeable about spotting techniques to maintain floors to organizational standards. Clean assigned patient/non-patient areas and equipment in accordance with a 7-step or 10-step cleaning procedure (as determined by department), ensuring a quality inspection score of at least 90%. Sanitize and make beds on transfers and discharges; complete the process as soon as possible to achieve a 90% quality inspection score. Transport regular waste, medical waste and linen to appropriate collection sites; keep waste carts and utility rooms clean at all times; wear PPE while performing cleaning responsibilities or transporting waste. Education High School Diploma or GED (preferred) – required. Any other certificate – preferred. Experience 12 to 24 months of experience (preferred). Other experience – required. Licenses & Certifications Driver's License (DL) – required for positions that require operating HonorHealth vehicles. Clean driving record as defined by HonorHealth Network Driver Qualification Policy Q-359. Valid Arizona driver's license and current Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
