This position offers a unique opportunity to lead comprehensive testing activities, ensuring seamless system integration, data integrity, and overall project success. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful deployment of innovative IT solutions that impact essential public services.This is a bid opportunity so will likely not start until the August/September timeframe. Preference would be for individuals close to NJ or in surrounding areas to be onsite when required.We cannot work C2C so need individuals on our direct W2.Prior experience with the State of New Jersey and/or Unemployment Insurance experience are huge pluses.In this role, you will be responsible for developing detailed data mapping documentation and test plans for system modernization. You will utilize tools such as SQL Developer and SQL Modeler with Oracle databases to create data analytics, perform statistical modeling, and cleanse datasets from primary or secondary sources. Collaborating closely with database and application development teams, business analysts, and stakeholders—including vendor and state staff—you will ensure data integration, mapping, and conversion align with project objectives. Establishing testing criteria, success metrics, and supporting data migration strategies are key aspects of your responsibilities.Daily tasks include designing comprehensive test cases covering functional, non-functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing; setting up and executing testing environments; systematically documenting test results and defects; and collaborating with developers to resolve issues efficiently. You will perform various testing types, conduct security assessments, and facilitate end-user sessions to validate system performance and gather feedback for improvements. Preparing detailed test reports for stakeholders, participating in data validation, and ensuring data migration accuracy are critical components of your role.Additional responsibilities involve analyzing current system interfaces, including Pro-C batch jobs and data structures, and documenting data governance policies. You will also record lessons learned and best practices, contribute to quality assurance during migration, and assist in post-launch issue resolution. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this multifaceted role.The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach to testing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams. Your familiarity with database tools, system testing methodologies, and data migration processes will set you apart.We prefer candidates with a background in IT, data management, or related fields, and relevant experience in system testing and data migration. Certifications such as ISTQB or similar are a plus but not required.
