This role is ideal for a civil engineer who wants hands-on design responsibility, exposure to a variety of project types, and opportunities to grow technically and professionally within a collaborative team environment.What you’ll be doing:Perform highway and site engineering design tasks, including engineering calculations, cost estimates, checking, and report writing.Must be able to operate MicroStation efficiently.Prepare and submit traffic control and detour plans.Chapter 105 and Chapter 102 permitting. H&H analysis and E&S plans.Assist with highway design elements such as geometry, guiderail, simple pavement design, right-of-way, traffic, stormwater management  and water resources.Prepare special provisions and perform QA/QC for projects.Mentor and assist in developing the technical skills of design staff and draftspersons.Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and Drafting teams.Demonstrate accountability and contribute to a team-oriented, professional work environment.  What we’re looking for:BS in Civil Engineering.PE certification.Minimum of 5 years of design experience.Working knowledge of highway and site design criteria and procedures which includes AASHTO and PennDOT design manuals and standards.Experience with Bentley MicroStation, hydrologic, hydraulic, and related design tools.Digital delivery experience is a plus  Familiarity with software such as InRoads/OpenRoads, Synchro, HEC-WMS (or similar), HEC-RAS and HY-8.This is a great opportunity for a Professional Engineer looking to deepen technical expertise, take on greater responsibility, and grow within a stable, well-supported engineering environment.Interested candidates may send their resumes directly to William Armsrong at bill@wecengineers.com.
