Position OverviewA community hospital in Queens is seeking ahighly skilled Physician Assistant (PA)to join itsInpatient Internal Medicine / Hospitalist team . This is apermanent, hospital-employed positionproviding care to a diverse patient population with acute and chronic medical conditions. Multiple full-time shift options are available, including day, evening, and night coverage.
The PA will work collaboratively with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Clinical ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment & Management
Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams on new admissions and existing patientsFormulate differential diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plansOrder and interpret labs, imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI), and other diagnostic studiesPrescribe medications and therapies per hospital protocolsManage acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in inpatient medicine (e.g., pneumonia, heart failure, COPD exacerbations, sepsis, kidney injury, diabetes)Perform minor procedures as privileged (venipuncture, arterial blood gases, nasogastric tube insertion, basic wound care)Collaboration & Communication
Participate in daily rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and hand-off communicationsCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding care plans and updatesDocumentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in the EMREnsure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standardsDischarge Planning
Assist with discharge coordination, medication reconciliation, patient education, and follow-up care arrangementsProfessional Development
