Physician Assistant - Hospitalist Queens, New York (Close to JFK Airport / South Shore) Position OverviewA community hospital in Queens is seeking ahighly skilled Physician Assistant (PA)to join itsInpatient Internal Medicine / Hospitalist team . This is apermanent, hospital-employed positionproviding care to a diverse patient population with acute and chronic medical conditions. Multiple full-time shift options are available, including day, evening, and night coverage. The PA will work collaboratively with supervising physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care. Clinical ResponsibilitiesPatient Assessment & Management Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams on new admissions and existing patientsFormulate differential diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plansOrder and interpret labs, imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI), and other diagnostic studiesPrescribe medications and therapies per hospital protocolsManage acute and chronic conditions commonly seen in inpatient medicine (e.g., pneumonia, heart failure, COPD exacerbations, sepsis, kidney injury, diabetes)Perform minor procedures as privileged (venipuncture, arterial blood gases, nasogastric tube insertion, basic wound care)Collaboration & Communication Participate in daily rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, and hand-off communicationsCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding care plans and updatesDocumentation & Compliance Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical records in the EMREnsure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standardsDischarge Planning Assist with discharge coordination, medication reconciliation, patient education, and follow-up care arrangementsProfessional Development Engage in continuing education and CME activitiesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental projectsSchedule OptionsDay Shift:7:00 AM - 3:30 PMEvening Shift:3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (+ 10% evening differential for eligible shifts)Night Shift:11:00 PM - 7:30 AM (+ shift differential)Full-time (75 hours biweekly)RequirementsMaster's degree from an accredited PA programNCCPA certification and current, unrestricted NY State PA licenseValid DEA registration1-2 years of inpatient experience preferred (Internal Medicine or Hospital Medicine)Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication and teamwork abilitiesProficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systemsAbility to work independently under physician supervision in a fast-paced hospital environmentCompensation & BenefitsPay:$76.97 - $94.17/hour depending on experience + shift differentialsSign-on bonus and CME reimbursementMedical, dental, vision insuranceBasic life insurance, short/long-term disabilityPaid time off (vacation, sick, personal, holidays)403(b) tax-deferred annuity planCOVID-19 vaccination requiredOrganization HighlightsCommunity hospital employed positionCredentialing takes approximately 2-3 monthsDiverse patient population and interdisciplinary care teamEasily accessible via public transportationLifestylePractice in Queens with access to all NYC has to offerDiverse culinary, arts, and entertainment optionsProximity to JFK Airport and South Shore communitiesby Jobble
