CNC Machine Operator
Job DescriptionPRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESReview production orders and select correct machine programsSet up machines, including tooling, inserts, offsets, and material alignmentOperate machining equipment to produce parts within required tolerances and surface finish standardsUse measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure product qualityInspect parts during and after machining and perform minor repairs as neededPerform finishing activities including deburring, grinding, and buffingExecute phosphating processes in accordance with proceduresVerify materials and parts match production requirementsComplete production reports accurately and on timeMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentMonitor quality issues and support corrective actionsTrain helpers on basic processes and proceduresFollow all NOV quality, safety, and environmental policiesSupport continuous improvement and safe work practicesPerform other duties as assignedEducation & Experience QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferred3–4 years of CNC machine operator experienceManufacturing experience preferredAbility to read blueprints and schematicsWorking knowledge of machining tools and processesBasic math skills (including geometry and algebra for machining calculations)Job RequirementsAbility to work in a fast-paced, changing environmentStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skillsEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to stand and work for extended periods (8+ hours) in shop or outdoor conditionsCapable of walking, bending, stooping, and lifting moderate loadsAbility to operate machine controls, levers, and tools safelyProficient with basic measuring instrumentsBEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIESAccountability: Takes ownership of work quality, safety, and production outputAttention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in setups, measurements, and inspectionsTeamwork: Works effectively with supervisors and peers to meet production goalsCommunication: Clearly communicates issues, status, and safety concernsReliability: Follows procedures, schedules, and work instructions consistentlySafety Focus: Promotes and maintains a safe work environment
