Sr Human Factors Design EngineerLocation: Minneapolis, MN – Onsite, 4 days/weekJob Type: ContractDuration: 12 MonthsExperience: 5–10 YearsJob OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Human Factors Design Engineer with strong experience in Human Factors Engineering (HFE), usability engineering, and medical devices. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting Class III medical devices and leading human factors validation activities.Key Skills RequiredHuman Factors validation study design and executionExperience moderating formative and summative usability studiesUse-Related Risk Analysis (URRA) authoring and risk traceabilityUsability data analysis and interpretationHuman Factors/usability report writingMedical device HFE experienceExperience with formative, presummative, and validation studiesCross-functional collaboration with engineering and design teamsKey ResponsibilitiesOwn and develop study protocols for formative, presummative, and Human Factors validation studies.Plan and moderate usability studies with intended users.Ensure accurate risk traceability and support use-related risk analysis.Work with research operations on participant recruitment and study logistics.Analyze usability data and provide recommendations to improve product design.Collaborate with Human Factors, Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, and other cross-functional teams.Prepare detailed Human Factors and usability reports.Support product development activities throughout the design and validation process.Product AreaThe role will support a Sacral Neuromodulation System, particularly the clinician-facing components of the system.Preferred SkillFigma experience is a plus.QualificationsBachelor's degree or advanced degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.5–10 years of relevant Human Factors/Usability Engineering experience, preferably within the medical device industry.Experience working with regulated medical devices and usability validation is strongly preferred.Interested candidates: Please apply with your updated resume and relevant Human Factors/medical device experience.
