Tasks and Responsibilities
Program, set up, and operate CNC machine tools or Tool Room equipment as needed to build, repair, revise and service molds, fixtures and related tools in a safe and timely manner.
Ensure molds, fixtures, and related tools are fit and assembled according to design specifications.
Monitor jobs and assigned tasks utilizing MRP systems to ensure projects are completed on time.
Inform the appropriate stakeholders of any expected delays or potential impacts to tool performance or delivery.
Aid in trouble shooting and resolving tooling performance problems.
Inspect machined components and records dimensional data.
Attend tool design review meetings and provide input to design for manufacturability
Train and mentor other team members in accepted methods and best practices of the trade
Education and Experience
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Estimated 7 years of tool making experience
Experience with CAD for examination of tool assemblies
Desired:
2-year technical degree in Machine Tool Trades/Tool and Die
Programming experience using CAD/CAM technology
Some experience in leading a project or team
