Annual period of service shall be 190 days.Essential DutiesCommunicates, collaborates and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, and adults?Manages health issues for studentsConsults with school staff, parents and students regarding health issuesActs as a liaison between school, health department, physicians, and other health agencies to coordinate care for studentsProvides emergency crisis nursing care for ill or injuredProvides health counseling to students?As needed, coordinates with school personnel to adequately represent school at Wellness Committee Meetings?Assists schools with immunization requirements and health screenings for studentsAdministers daily and PRN (as needed) medications as prescribed and in accordance with established protocolsAdheres to, and assist in training others in, best practices for the management of student health needs associated with diabetes, asthma, food allergies and other know student medical needs for which the school is required to be monitor??Ensures required permissible health related documentation is entered into the district's system of recordsProvides emergency care in crisis situations until first responders arriveOther duties may be assigned.
