Human Resources Director

Strong schools depend on strong systems - and strong systems require strong leadership.The Director of Human Resources is responsible for building and leading the people systems that ensure every campus is staffed with a diverse, mission-aligned team supported to do their best work. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, including talent, employee relations, compliance, and organizational culture, ensuring that practices across the network are equitable, consistent, and responsive to staff needs.Serving as a strategic partner to school leaders and Home Office teams, the Director leads both the design and execution of HR systems, balancing big-picture thinking with hands-on support. Through clear expectations, strong relationships, and a deep commitment to care and accountability, this role ensures that adults across Scholarship Prep are supported, empowered, and positioned to serve students and families at the highest level.How This Role Makes an Impact:As Director of Human Resources at Scholarship Prep, you will shape the daily experience of staff across the organization by building systems and support that allow adults to thrive. This role blends people strategy, relationship-building, and hands-on execution to create an organization where strong adults drive strong outcomes for students.Building a Strong, Mission-Aligned WorkforceDesign and strengthen recruitment, hiring, and onboarding systems across campuses.Ensure hiring practices are equitable, consistent, and aligned to priorities.Lead onboarding so staff feel prepared and connected to mission from day one.Monitor staffing trends and improve systems to strengthen retention.Leading Employee Experience & RelationsServe as the primary HR partner to staff and leaders.Lead employee relations work, including investigations and conflict resolution.Ensure concerns are handled with fairness, consistency, and care.Support employees through benefits, leaves, accommodations, and transitions.Building Strong People Systems & ComplianceDesign and manage HR systems that ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance.Maintain accurate employee data, records, and HRIS systems.Ensure compliance with employment laws, credentialing, and audits.Oversee key processes including leaves, workers’ compensation, ADA, and trainings.Strengthening Leaders & Organizational CultureCoach leaders in performance management, communication, and people leadership.Provide guidance on documentation, feedback, and staff management.Design and deliver training on HR practices and trauma-informed supervision.Partner with leaders to strengthen culture, recognition, and engagement.Solving Problems & Driving Continuous ImprovementLead solutions to complex people challenges across the organization.Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement in systems and practices.Translate new laws into clear, actionable internal processes.Build tools and dashboards to improve visibility and decision-making.Ideal Candidate:Is committed to Scholarship Prep’s mission and values of equity, excellence, and community.Believes that strong people systems are essential to strong schools.Leads with empathy, sound judgment, and a commitment to fairness in complex situations.Balances big-picture thinking with hands-on execution and strong follow-through.Builds trust with staff and leaders through clear communication, professionalism, and care.Is motivated to build and improve systems that support people and strengthen culture.Experience in HR, employee relations, or people operations in a multi-site or mission-driven organization preferred.
