AUDIO VISUAL SYSTEMS- CRESTRON/EXTRON/DSP PROGRAMMERS ONLY! Job Summary: The software engineer (SE 2) reports to the Engineering Manager (EM) and is a member of the programming team. The SE works with the operations team to facilitate the highest levels of programming and overall system performance possible. The ideal candidate has experience in the AV industry, programming basic control systems and performing final commissioning of installed systems. To be considered a SE 2 (certified programmer), the candidate/employee shall have completed either Crestron Certification, Extron Authorized Programmer or AMX Programmer certification and have a minimum of 5 years commercial programming experience including DSP programming. Summary of Essential Job Functions (SE 2): · Maintain broad exposure to industry product solutions for audio reinforcement, microphones, audio and video conferencing, video routing and distribution, IT/networking, control systems and equipment storage. · Deliver high quality control systems programming on time and under budget thus creating an environment of consistent profitability. · Working with the project team to develop intuitive graphics and UI templates. · Supporting the operations team with system debug and system commissioning process remotely or on site. · Represent L3AV in a professional environment and interacting in client meetings, phone conversations and web conferences. · Working at home, L3AV office or project site with minimal day-to-day supervision and oversight. · Perform product evaluations. Qualifications: · Ability to meet necessary deadlines. The operations team requires submittals and completed code to stay on schedule. · Effective interaction between department teams and with customers. This role requires communication between multiple team members to ensure the most efficient staging and deployment of the system by the operations team. · Attention to detail. Ability to include code comments and other methods allowing other programmers the ability to follow and modify code. · Ability to follow process. · Ability to adhere to L3AV programming standards. · Assist in the continuous improvement of programming and procedural standards · Ability to read AV construction drawings, review for accuracy and comment as necessary to assist in validating drawings are 100% correct. · Windows/Microsoft Office/Microsoft Teams proficient. · Ability to learn new software tools. · Demonstrate a willingness and passion to learn new techniques and procedures. · Read and write at or above a college level. · Be punctual and communicative with all L3AV staff and customers. · Read and understand technical documentation (equipment manuals, installation guides, written procedures, and policies, etc.) · Must possess a valid Driver’s License and be a safe driver. Experience Requirements: · 10 years industry experience with the tasks described herein preferred. 5 years of that experience must be performing commercial programming including high level DSP work.
