Job Title Associate Director, Field Leadership Sales Training & Leadership Excellence Reporting To Director, Global Commercial Learning & Development --- Position Summary Client's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. The Associate Director, Field Leadership Sales Training & Leadership Excellence leads the design, development, and execution of field leadership training for the US Sales organization, with potential for future global expansion. This role is responsible for building best-in-class leadership learning experiences across onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development for Regional Directors (RDs) and field sales leaders. Reporting to the Director, Global Commercial Learning & Development, this role partners closely with US and Global Commercial Learning & Development stakeholders to ensure leadership programs are delivered with excellence, scale, and consistency. The role balances strategic curriculum ownership with strong operational and program execution in a fast-paced commercial environment. --- Key Responsibilities Leadership Curriculum & Learning Journey Lead the creation and execution of field leadership curriculum for first-line leaders and Regional Directors. Design and implement a comprehensive New Regional Director learning journey for the first year of onboarding. Expand learning experiences for new and tenured sales leaders through coaching-based curriculum and leadership development programming. Competency & Capability Building Develop and implement field leadership competencies aligned with sales, cross-functional, and enterprise expectations. Ensure leadership competencies and related training support performance, competitiveness, and operational excellence. Align all learning solutions to established coaching models, adult learning principles, and CL&D standards. Program Execution & Operations Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of live, virtual, and digital leadership programs. Manage program logistics including schedules, materials, trackers, stakeholder communications, and follow-up. Maintain and update leadership learning assets, toolkits, facilitator guides, and participant materials. Track deliverables across multiple initiatives, identifying risks and ensuring timely, high-quality outcomes. Prepare program updates, meeting recaps, and documentation for leadership and stakeholders. Stakeholder & Vendor Partnership Partner with US and Affiliate Commercial Learning & Development teams to design, adapt, and scale leadership programming. Review existing training inventory to determine opportunities for reuse or global adaptation, focusing on highest-impact solutions. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define desired performance outcomes and required behaviors, skills, and knowledge. Partner with external vendors to design and build new content when needed. Leadership & Influence Demonstrate strong project management and the ability to lead complex initiatives end-to-end. Influence and engage stakeholders without formal authority, incorporating feedback throughout development. Lead by example while modeling executive presence and Gilead's core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, excellence, and inclusion. --- Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience, OR Master's degree with 10+ years of experience, OR PhD with 8+ years of experience --- Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated credibility as an expert in leadership training and development. Experience supporting field or commercial leadership onboarding and development. Proven ability to design and deliver engaging training for large audiences. Strong ability to align stakeholders across functions and geographies. Demonstrated excellence in program management, project management, and change management. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
