Youth Peer Support Specialist Part-Time

Morrison Center is seeking a Part-Time Youth Peer Support Specialist. This position is 5-10 hours a week. It requires a compassionate and organized individual to join to our dynamic, multidisciplinary Children's Programs team in Scarborough, Maine as the Youth Peer Support Specialist. The Support Specialist is an individual who has a family member who is receiving or has received services and supports related to the diagnosis of a mental illness, serious emotional disturbance, and/or developmental delay, and self-identifies on this basis with Behavioral Health Home members.Requirements Of The Youth Peer Support Specialist:Valid Maine Driver's License with a clean recordHigh School DiplomaAppropriate vehicle insuranceComplete the OCFS Peer Support CurriculumAble to work Monday - FridayBenefits Of The Job:Health & Dental insurance with employer contributionsPay $20 an hour, based on experience. To facilitate youth and family engagement within the program, navigate educational and community service supports for children and families.Help locate shelter, food, and clothing to assist families with meeting basic needs. Present ideas, suggestions, and needs to the team in a clear and objective way, Ability to adhere to Morrison Center policies and state required documentation, and perform in a manner that sustains and enhances the Center’s positive image and reputation for service.Support with intake requestsClient meet and greetsSupport to case managers who are supporting new clients through the intake process, and management of the Children’s program’s wait lists and referrals, support.Occasional travel required to attend State, and agency run trainings and meetings.Morrison Center is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to providecomprehensive, individualized support services to children and adults withdevelopmental disabilities.Morrison Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
