Defense - Manufacturing Planner

Spirit AeroSystems focuses on affordable, innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions to support customers around the globe.ResponsibilitiesLocation: Wichita, KS (Onsite) Key AccountabilitiesImplements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teamsKnowledge to develop tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plansUsing the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of materialCommunicates with engineering teams to influence and clarify design conceptsCoordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues, production & postproduction problemsHas the ability to demonstrate configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build planQualificationsRequirements: High School Diploma or GED5+ years of related manufacturing experience This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance Successful candidates must be able to secure Program access approval Preferred SkillsProject Manufacturing Engineering backgroundAssembly, structures, and/or subsystems experienceClarification, enhancement of existing build plans to promote standardization, and ease of understanding Frequent interaction with internal personnel in the manufacturing environment and occasionally with inter-organizational personnel and external customers Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models Creation and publication of manufacturing graphics Strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially with Excel Strong knowledge of SAP CATIA / ENOVIA 3DX Understanding of the master scheduling requirements Ability to take a project from start to finish Willingness to work cross-functionally Technical Degree Spirit AeroSystems is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.Kansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
