Security Engineer

Job TitleProject Overview: Northern Trust is looking for an experienced resource to support Global Physical Security Systems, a suite of applications that control secure access (eg building badging, security cameras, etc.) to Northern Trust facilities globally.Contractors RoleSupports, monitors, and maintains security/access systems and facilitates product upgrades.Experience LevelMid Level 2 (3-7 yrs)Qualifications3-5 years of experience in Information Security and application support for physical security applications.2 - 3 years of experience in deployment, implementation and upgrades of physical security applications for badging and building access.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or similarGeneral understand of project/program management processesKnowledge of software, hardware and systems development life cycles and process improvement techniquesAbility to troubleshoot issues, escalate to vendor or internal support teams and track through resolutionChange management process and controlsNice to HavesExperience with RS2 AccessIT, Bold Technology Manitou, March Networks Security DVR, Bosch Remote Programming System (RPS) & D6200, Stopware Passagepoint Global and Traka (TrakaWeb) systems a plus.Knowledge of MS SQL database and ability to write basic queriesAbility to describe highly technical information in an understandable level to any audience.Ability to work with minimal direction on a variety of requirements.Experience in Windows programming (.Net, VB Scripting, PowerShell, Administrative scripting) a plus.Tasks & ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes, evaluates, determines, and directs testing, implementation, upgrades, and quality control of all application development and support work affecting assigned physical security systems.Perform health check monitoring on all physical security servers and applications to ensure consistent availability of the system to end-user.Ability to document installation procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), DR plans etc.
