Jr. Systems Engineer

Jr. Systems EngineerLocation: Los Angeles, CACBS VFX is looking for a 2nd shift Jr. Systems Engineer to work hybrid in our Los Angeles office. Primary Responsibilities:·     Provide friendly support for VFX Artists using Linux, Windows, and Mac.·     To include application issues, OS issues, Networking problems, login issues, software installs and request for peripherals.·     Set up, move, and install workstations to meet production requirements.·     Troubleshoot workstation hardware.·     Assist with project LTO Archiving·     Provide general help to the Director of Engineering·     Various duties as assigned.Qualifications:·     Basic understanding of networking protocols, hardware configurations and drivers as they relate to a production environment.·     Can assist Engineering staff with troubleshooting.·     Experience with Backup and replication software & equipment.·     Experience in Linux/macOS/Windows shell scripting; execute commands and write simple scripts in bash/powershell etc.·     Understanding of computer networks, including hardware, protocols, and firewalls in a production environment.·     Can minimally assist the Engineering department with troubleshooting.·     Experience with LTO tape archive/retrieval software & equipment.·     Ability to navigate in a Linux/Unix/Shell, execute commands and write simple scripts.·     Strong problem-solving skills.·     Knowledge of Aspera, FTP, and other web-based file transfer software.·     Familiarity with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux.·     Python scripting a plus.·     Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.·     Prior experience in a Film/TV Production environment.·     Ability to multi-task.·     Ability to handle high pressure situations.·     Strong attention to details.
