*The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within NYC, NY is $110K - $120K/year & benefits (see below).
About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Python Developer with experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and deploy scalable Python applications and AI-powered solutions that support business and customer needs. You will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to build reliable systems, integrate AI capabilities, and deliver high-quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and maintain robust Python applications and services.
Build and integrate AI/ML solutions into existing and new products.
Develop applications using machine learning, natural language processing, generative AI, or computer vision technologies.
Work with large datasets and develop data-processing and automation pipelines.
Integrate large language models, AI APIs, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval-augmented generation solutions.
Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices.
Write clean, maintainable, scalable, and well-documented code.
Train, evaluate, fine-tune, and deploy machine learning models where required.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Conduct testing, debugging, performance tuning, and code reviews.
Monitor and improve the reliability, accuracy, security, and performance of AI applications.
Stay current with emerging developments in Python, AI, machine learning, and software engineering.
Contribute to technical documentation, development standards, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.[2–5] years of professional experience in Python development.
Strong proficiency in Python and object-oriented programming.
Experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
Hands-on experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as:
PyTorchTensorFlowscikit-learn
Hugging Face Transformers
LangChain or similar frameworks
Understanding of machine learning concepts, model evaluation, and data preparation.
Experience building and integrating APIs and backend services.
Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with Git, testing frameworks, debugging, and software development lifecycle practices.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience developing generative AI or LLM-powered applications.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, and RAG architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and MLOps practices.
- Experience with data-processing tools such as Pandas, NumPy, Apache Spark, or Airflow.
- Knowledge of SQL and database optimization.
- Experience with model deployment, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with responsible AI, data privacy, and AI security principles.
- Contributions to open-source projects, technical publications, or relevant personal projects.
