Supervise students in a variety of school related settings. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes.Work is performed under the general direction of the Principal.Job Responsibilities:Demonstrates an understanding of the curriculum, subject content, and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences.Directs instruction; manages the classroom; maintains student behavior and safety.Prepares lesson plans, organizes materials, prepares the classroom in order to maximize instructional time.Grades papers; provide timely feedback.Collects and records data; analyzes results, prepares related paperwork and reports.Participates in meetings; communicates with colleagues and parents.Monitors students in a variety of educational environments (e.g. classroom, school grounds, hallways, restrooms, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment; reports incidents (e.g. acts of aggression, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, bullying behavior, harassment).Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns and/or reporting to appropriate personnel for resolution.Follows federal, state, and division policies in regard to IDEA implementation and Multi-Tier Instructional Plan.Fluent in Spanish.Cultural and historical knowledge of Spanish speaking countries is preferred.Ability to communicate with families in English regarding student performance.Encourage students to develop oral and literacy language skills appropriate to age and abilities.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with coursework in education, or related field and minimal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must hold or be eligible for a teaching license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in Spanish.Working Conditions:
