Lifeguard, Fitness Center

JOB DESCRIPTION:The Fitness Center Lifeguard will maintain the safety of patrons at the Aggie Recreation Center pool. They will be responsible for lifeguarding guests in attendance.Job duties include but are not limited to:Maintain the safety of patrons in and around the poolMaintain a professional attitudeCommunicate and enforce all regulations and pool rules in a personable and professional mannerCommunicate any potentially dangerous elements of the facility to the Aggie Rec. ManagerPerform patron surveillance with a rescue tube from the guard standRemain alert and use all senses while guardingWork as a team with other lifeguards during special eventsRecord daily participation numbers and complete daily activity reportsBe able to respond to an emergency and contact/activate EMSHandle all incidents in a manner appropriate to your trainingPerform other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard/CPR-PR/AED/First Aid Certifications or be willing to obtain certification (Aggie Rec Center will provide Lifeguard Certification Training)Excellent communication skillsBasic knowledge of pool chemistry and mechanical operations a plusAbility to work well with othersSALARY RANGE: $11 per hourDEADLINE:Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.EEO/AA/VeteransJOB #-H3308C
