Certified preferred but not required.Ability to operate a forklift to move pallets, products, and waste about the plant in a safe mannerAbility to read various measurement equipment including a tape measure, ability to operate various hand tools including a pneumatic nail gun and circular sawAbility to read and interpret work ordersMust be self-motivated and capable of working with minimum supervisionExcellent attendance requiredPhysical RequirementsLifting up to 50 poundsVisually inspecting products, aisle ways, and forkliftCommunicating with employees and managementSitting on a lift for approximately 75% of the workday, the remainder of the time spent stooping, bending, lifting, and moving about plantPrimary AccountabilitiesOperate gas or an electric forklift for majority of shift, moving pallets, racks, and boxes about plantRemove strapping/and or stretch film on pallets as neededDeliver correct raw materials to production lines per work ordersBuild pallets for lines using wood, a pneumatic nail gun, and a circular saw. Requires measuring of pieces and cutting to specifications and nailing in place.Clean waste from lines on a consistent basis, weigh waste boxes, and place in baler areaAssist at baler area as neededAssist on production lines or in the warehouse as neededCommunicate with Supervisors, Leads, and other Material Handlers via handheld radio and in-person regarding production and warehouse needsPerform other duties assigned by management as requiredAt Greif, we believe that our colleagues are the center of our success.
