Position SummaryThis position is responsible for operating the controls of the rig, acting as the rig lead, and reports to Rig Supervisor.Essential FunctionsStrictly adhere to and enforce all safety proceduresResponsible for immediate reporting to Rig Supervisor of all accidents and incidentsResponsible for overseeing the mobilization, set up and break down of equipmentResponsible for the safe operation of the rig and supporting equipmentAct as the rig lead during rig operationsMust be able to train and later act as a Rig Supervisor in the Rig Supervisor’s absenceResponsible for carrying out the directions of the Rig Supervisor and Company ManAct as the safety leader for the crewOversee the maintenance of the rig equipmentResponsible for training the crew on proper safety, operational procedures and cross training to cover each otherResponsible for operating forklifts, heavy equipment and auxiliary equipmentMust be able to travel extensively to other locations, including rural areas, other states and internationally, to work where the rig is operatingMust be able to work weekends and holidays when necessaryMust be able to work overtime when necessaryOther ResponsibilitiesPerform other duties as directedEducation, Experience, And Skills RequiredThe ability to understand procedures and instructions to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in four years of high schoolMust have 2 years of experience in the mechanical operations and procedures of a drilling and/or work over rigMust know and understand drilling fundamentalsMust possess excellent team leadership, communication skills and supervisory experienceThe ability to complete tasks efficiently and effectivelyThe ability to think quickly and respond to changing situationsMust be able to communicate in English with other employees and read and write at a level that will enable to perform the work in a safe and efficient mannerMust be able to communicate verbally and visually in a clear and effective manner including in noisy and low illumination environmentsMust be able to safely operate a forklift, heavy equipment and auxiliary equipmentMust be able to operate a vehicle in a safe mannerMust possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrierPhysical RequirementsThis job requires sitting approximately 30% and standing up to 70%The ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedlyMust be able to wear any required protective equipment, as required by safety procedures and regulationsMust be able to frequently climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkwaysThis job requires standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneelingMust be able to work in severe weather conditions
