Security Guard

Job PurposeThis job is responsible for controlling access to the facility and directs the flow of traffic through the front gates.Duties And ResponsibilitiesOperates gate controls in an effective and safe manner.Maintains a smooth and steady flow of truck traffic to the scale house following SOP.Grants access for employees, when necessary, after verifying they are currently employed.Hands out former employee's last paycheck upon receipt of company property from former employee.Greets all visitors at gate; logs visitors, vendors, and contractors on front gate visitor log, and directs those entering facility to specified office.Accepts mail, small packages, and other drop off items at the gate and contacts person responsible for picking up said items.Responsible for security of the facility, as stated in SOP.Check in trucks after hoursAll other duties as assigned by manager.QualificationsMust be 21 years of age or older.Must be able to read and write.Must have basic computer skills.Working conditionsThis job is a 12-hour swing shift, rotating days/nights from 8AM - 8PM & 8PM- 8AM. This job is primarily indoors; however, outside work is required as needed. Lunch breaks and breaks are taken in the security office in order to not interfere with the security of the facility or processing of truck traffic.Physical RequirementsThis position requires regular sitting and occasional standing and walking.
