Since its inception in 1997, the gallery has built an international roster of artists who create exceptional work that is articulate, visceral, and provocative.We are looking for a Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of contemporary art and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an art advising / client facing sales position at a contemporary art gallery. In this role, the successful candidate would develop client relationships and generate gallery sales through walk-in traffic and extensive outreach, primarily focusing on creating new business and nurturing existing relationships. The applicant must possess a professional demeanor, have a positive, can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and a wonderful rapport with artists and collectors.This position is full time, Tuesday through Saturday, with occasional evening commitments.Start Date: ImmediatelySchedule: Tuesday–Friday (9–6 pm), Saturday (11–5 pm)Principal Responsibilities Include:Develop and implement sales initiatives, cultivate new clientele and maintain strong relations with existing clientsConduct sales presentations in a highly professional and well informed mannerParticipate in strategic planning with the Principal and team: exhibitions, potential new artist representation, art fairs, etc.Liaising with gallery artists to conduct studio visits, discuss inventory and nurture relationships between artists and galleryExhibition curation if desiredRequirements and Additional Skills:Strong leadership skills with ability to promote the success of each member of the teamOutstanding written and verbal communication skillsOriented toward creating superb collector and artist experienceExceptional interpersonal skillsProfessional and tailored appearanceKnowledge of and passion for contemporary artSelf-starter with ability to work independently and with a team while meeting deadlinesThrives in a fast-paced environmentCompensation: $65,000.00–$80,000.00/year *Salary base is commensurate with experience with ability to make sales commission.Benefits:Health insurancePaid time offIf you feel as though you are a good fit for this position please email your resume and cover letter to info@dolbychadwickgallery.com
