CFS also means a more versatile design, increased speed of construction, less scrap and waste created, and lower overall costs.DESCRIPTIONThe Structural Engineer is responsible for engineering commercial projects in cold-formed steel and translating them into the FrameCAD system. The candidate must possess a proven track record of designing and evaluating new and existing structures while ensuring compliance with codes. All members of this team must embrace learning FrameCAD technology and software, however, prior experience in this area is not necessary. This position is committed to identifying issues and achieving solutions to increase productivity, ensuring compliance with codes, and driving continuous improvement in structural engineering practices.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESOversees the review and approval of structural designs, ensuring adherence to safety standards, codes, and best practices.Monitors project progress, manages timelines, and ensures that engineering projects are completed on time and within budget.Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, and project managers, to ensure cohesive project execution.Reviews and approves project plans, calculations, and design documents for accuracy and compliance with industry standards.Identifies and addresses potential risks and challenges in structural design and construction, developing mitigation strategies as needed.Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the engineering team and throughout the organization.Evaluates light-gauge, cold-form manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.Works closely with our production team to help develop improved manufacturing and design processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with contractors.Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLSProfessional Structural Engineer license is requiredStrong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are requiredCold-formed steel framing design experience preferredKnowledge of CAD programs is requiredExperience with design of reinforced concrete, structural steel, wood, and precast concrete is preferredStrong critical thinking and decision-making skillsMust be able to prioritize work to meet scheduled deadlines while handling multiple tasksSuperior organizational and time management skillsEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
