Assistant Controller

Assistant Controller – Multi-Property Role-Hospitality Experience Required 1. Financial Reporting & Consolidation Assist in the monthly close process for multiple hotel entities, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and consolidated financial reporting. Ensure financial statements for each property are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP and company policies. Standardize reporting practices across all hotels to maintain consistency and comparability. 2. Property Oversight & Support Supervise and support on-site staff at each property; provide training, tools, and ongoing performance guidance. Review and validate financials from each property, helping resolve discrepancies and posting errors. Act as the go-to resource for property-level GMs and department heads on financial matters. 3. Accounts Payable, Receivable & Payroll Coordination Ensure timely and accurate processing of AP, AR, and payroll across all properties. Streamline vendor management, billing procedures, and cash flow tracking across locations. Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances. 4. Revenue Reporting & Audit Compliance Oversee daily revenue reporting from all properties, including room revenue, F&B, and ancillary outlets. Conduct audits of daily revenue summaries, ensuring POS/PMS alignment and flagging anomalies. Monitor and reconcile third-party booking activity (e.g., Airbnb, Expedia, Booking.com) across properties. 5. Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes for each hotel, ensuring consistency in approach and timeline. 6. Tax Compliance & Regulatory Filings Prepare and file sales, occupancy, and other applicable taxes for each property according to local and state requirements. Monitor compliance and deadlines across multiple jurisdictions. 7. Internal Controls & Standardization Implement and maintain internal controls across all properties, ensuring alignment with corporate standards. Conduct periodic audits of cash handling, inventory, and purchasing practices. Identify process inefficiencies and work to centralize or standardize workflows. 8. Cross-Functional Collaboration Act as the bridge between property teams and corporate finance, ensuring strong communication and alignment. Collaborate with IT or systems teams on PMS or accounting system upgrades. 9. Special Projects & Strategic Support Develop tools, dashboards, and reporting packages to assist leadership across properties. Assist the Controller with special projects and other financial tasks as assigned. Hospitality background required. Knowledge and experience with M3 accounting systems required.
