Laboratory Manager
Job Title: Laboratory ManagerJob DescriptionLead and oversee daily laboratory operations and staff. Mentor and develop team members; ensure appropriate training and performance management. Manage quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance, and prepare for inspections.Responsibilities+ Oversee staffing, hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.+ Drive process improvements, project management, and test performance review.+ Maintain test databases and ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) reflect current practices.+ Coordinate research and development activities and manage departmental budget and resources.+ Ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety standards.+ Maintain safe, functional laboratory facilities and equipment.+ Interact with clients to resolve issues.+ Perform additional duties as assigned.Essential Skills+ Bachelor's Degree in a Life Science, preferably Chemistry or Medical Laboratory Science.+ 6 years of Clinical Lab Experience in a high-complexity testing lab.+ 1-2 years of supervisory experience.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ ASCP Certification Preferred - MLS or Chemistry C (ASCP).+ Experience in a Clinical Chemistry lab is preferred.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in a clinical lab environment, which is very busy with increasing volumes. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
