Program Coordinator

Job Summary The Program Coordinator plays a key role in expanding our impact and ensuring consistent, high-quality programming to youth in detention. You will: * Help develop a program for youth in detention and help others develop programs to meet the needs of youth in detention. * Recruit, screen, onboard, train, and retain a committed volunteer corps. * Build and strengthen community partnerships and develop engaging program offerings for youth in detention. * Systematize data collection and analysis to track youth and volunteer outcomes. * Maintain communications, records, and recognition systems for both youth and volunteers. * Work flexible hours (after-school and weekends) to deliver and oversee programming. *Expected Outcomes in a Nutshell* Your work will help ensure that participating youth: * *Lower emotional barriers* and begin trusting mentors through consistent engagement. * *Grow their sense of self-worth and accomplishment* through program activities. * *Demonstrate increasing respect and social-emotional maturity*, including positive communication and self-correction. * *Build supportive networks* that guide them through re-entry and beyond. * *Return as mentors* to help others, continuing the cycle of transformation. *Basic Qualifications* * Bachelor’s degree preferred; *minimum:* college senior (reduced course load) or equivalent experience. * Prior experience as a *program or volunteer coordinator*, or working with youth in detention, re-entry, or community programs. * Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. * Comfortable with data tracking, record-keeping, and evaluation systems. * Must have flexible availability *after-school and on weekends* to meet program needs. Duties * Read, _Just Mercy _by Bryan Stevenson, the book that inspired this non-profit. * Develop, implement, and evaluate community programs focused on public health, addiction counseling, youth engagement, and social services. * Manage volunteer recruitment, training, supervision, and recognition to ensure a motivated and effective team. * Coordinate outreach activities through community events, social media campaigns, and grassroots organizing to maximize engagement. * Collaborate with community partners, local organizations, and stakeholders to align program goals and expand service reach. * Conduct public speaking engagements to promote programs and educate diverse audiences about available resources. * Collect and analyze data related to program participation and outcomes to inform continuous improvement efforts. * Oversee social media management and marketing strategies to increase visibility and community awareness of programs. Requirements * Proven experience in volunteer management, community outreach, or program development within diverse or underserved communities. * Supervising experience with teams or volunteers in fast-paced environments. * Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to engage audiences effectively. * Strong project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives simultaneously. * Knowledge of social media platforms and marketing techniques for community engagement. * Experience in data collection, reporting, and using analytics to measure program success. * Familiarity with social work is highly desirable. * Exceptional organizational skills combined with written communication proficiency for reports and grant applications. * Ability to work collaboratively with community partners while demonstrating leadership in grassroots organizing efforts.
