This role combines direct supervision of Field Support Specialist staff with a focus on technical excellence, knowledge management, and capability development to support field operations teams and ensure operational continuity across the portfolio.Your day-to-day tasks will include: Serve as subject matter expert for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systemsProvide advanced technical troubleshooting and problem-solving support to field teams as technical escalation pointLead regular technical meetings and engage with Regional Operations Managers, Operations Managers, and Technicians to provide guidance, share best practices, and address operational challengesDevelop and maintain technical standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), preventive maintenance task libraries, equipment specifications, best practices documentation, and technical reference guides; establish quality review processes to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and regulatory complianceDesign and deliver comprehensive technical training programs and career development pathways for engineering staffConduct compliance assessments and interface with regulatory authorities and municipal officialsOversee fleet vehicle inventory, compliance tracking, and specialized equipment procurementProvide direct supervision and performance management for Field Support Specialist positionsProvide technical oversight and strategic direction for HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) and Sustainability workstreamsParticipate in talent management activities including candidate interviewing, and selection processes for technicians and engineering staff across the portfolioCoordinate emergency technical support for building system failures and critical incidentsTravel Required: This position requires up to 20% travel throughout account portfolio.Desired experience and technical skills: Requirements: Bachelor's degree requiredMinimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in commercial building engineeringExtensive experience with HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, air handlers, controls)Advanced knowledge of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, emergency systems)Experience with building automation systems and energy managementPreferred: Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Engineering degreeProfessional Engineering (PE) licenseRelevant industry certifications (HVAC Excellence, NECA, Building Performance Institute)Current knowledge of applicable codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, NEC, IBC, IMC, IPC)Previous training or teaching experienceBackground in preventive maintenance program development and implementationThis position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.Estimated compensation for this position: 99,100.00 - 121,400.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ.
