Summary About the Position: This position is with the 599th Army Transportation Brigade, located at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Incumbent will perform full range of budget formulation and execution of duties associated with the fiscal planning, programming, and budgeting. Learn more about this agency Duties Help Monitor and evaluate execution of assigned budgets to ensure compliance with Command operating plans and fiscal regulations.Conduct formal budget execution reviews with subordinate Battalions.Develop and consolidate unfunded requirements and provide recommendations aligned with command priorities.Review resource allocations and recommend adjustments based on mission changes.Process financial documents (e.g., requisitions, G-Invoicing, DA Forms 1610).Provide ongoing financial status updates and advisory support to Brigade leadership.Analyze historical financial data to forecast funding requirements and identify trends.Identify funding discrepancies (shortfalls/excesses) and recommend corrective actions or reprogramming solutions.Prepare spend plans and narrative justifications for command-level budget submissions. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing budget formulation and execution for organizational programs using the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES); monitoring and analyzing budget execution to ensure funds are used in accordance with approved operating plans, laws, and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations; identifying funding shortfalls and excess funds; and recommending reprogramming actions to support mission requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
