Georgia Southern University has been recognized by Forbes as one of "America's Best-In-State Employers" for 2025.Job SummaryThe Operations Specialist is a full-time role based at Georgia Southern University's Statesboro campus, dedicated to facilitating event and visitation needs through on and off- campus partnerships, budget management and providing remarkable customer service to campus guests. This position provides organization and administrative support to the Events and Visitation teams offering students a personalized and seamless experience. They represent the university at all recruitment events and provide informational sessions and tours as needed to prospective students and families. Reporting to the Associate Director of Events and Visitation, the Administrative Specialist will consistently uphold the values of service, collaboration, and excellence advocated by the Division of Enrollment, Marketing, and Student Success.ResponsibilitiesWorks with the Coordinator of Visitation to coordinate details for daily toursManages events' budget and works with assistant to the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management in collecting and paying invoicesResponsible for managing the Visitation email account and correctly routing inquiries to admissions/university staffWorks with Associate Director of Events and Visitation to order event-related suppliesProvides excellent customer service while ensuring confidential information is secureProvides daily tours and info sessions as neededAssist with planning and coverage of external events as neededCommunicates with on- and off-campus facilities to reserve and prepare space for Admissions-related eventsRequired QualificationsEducational RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalentRequired ExperienceTwo or more years of related work experiencePreferred QualificationsPreferred Educational QualificationsBachelor's DegreePreferred ExperienceExperience managing a budget and event planningProposed Salary$18.11 - $22.20This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.Required Documents to AttachResumeCover LetterTwo (2) Professional References Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesABILITIESConsistently exhibit engaging customer serviceAbility to support various constituencies served by the UniversityProven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific positionProficiency with computer accessories, spreadsheets, and databasesKNOWLEDGEAdhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student successSKILLSEffective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skillsApply Before DateOpen Until FilledApplication review may begin as early as January 19, 2026.Contact InformationFor more information or questions about a job posting, please contact the Department of Human Resources by phone at or by email at .For technical support, please call the USG Service Desk at , or email .USG Core ValuesThe University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions of higher education and learning as well as the System Office.
