This isn't about bolting AI onto an existing process — it's about using AI tools as a real part of how you design, build, and ship code every day. If you already reach for tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or Windsurf without thinking twice, and you're curious about what else they can do for your workflow, this role is built around that instinct.We need engineers who've taken products from a blank repo to production, can move across the stack without hesitation, and actually enjoy figuring out where AI can make real engineering work faster and better — not just faster on paper.What You'll Be DoingBuilding with AI as part of the process:Designing and building applications in Java, Python, and Spring BootUsing AI tools day-to-day to speed up development, not just as a noveltySpotting places where manual work can be automated, then doing something about itTrying out new AI tools as they come along and figuring out which ones actually earn a place in the workflowOwning delivery end to end:Taking projects from design through deployment and into production supportBuilding applications that hold up — scalable, maintainable, and reliable under real useWeighing in on architecture and helping shape what "good AI-enabled development" looks like for the teamWorking AI/ML into the product itself:Integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications where it makes senseConnecting APIs and services to bring LLM-driven features into what you're buildingExperimenting with prompt engineering to get better, more reliable outputsKeeping pace with the team:Working in a fast-moving, delivery-focused environmentParticipating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous deliveryHelping the team get faster and more efficient over time, not just individuallyCollaborating and sharing what you learn:Working closely with product managers and fellow engineers on high-impact projectsPassing along what you learn about AI tools and techniques instead of keeping it to yourselfHelping build a team culture where trying new things is normal, not riskyWhat You Bring6+ years of software engineering experienceStrong hands-on experience with Java, Python, and Spring BootA track record of shipping applications from concept to productionReal, hands-on use of AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar) to improve how you workFinancial services industry experienceSolid grasp of modern software architecture and development practicesComfort working as a generalist across the stack, not just one layerGenuine interest in AI and a habit of looking for better ways to do thingsNice to HaveExperience integrating AI/ML or LLM capabilities into real applicationsFamiliarity with AWS or AzureExposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation toolingExperience in high-growth or fast-paced engineering environmentsFinancial services background (a plus, not a requirement)Next Steps No C2C, relocation, referral, or sponsorship candidates for this role.For finer details on how eNGINE can impact your career, apply today!
