LIS Application Analyst

The LIS Application Analyst will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the Laboratory Information System to ensure seamless laboratory operations. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and healthcare knowledge to support and improve laboratory workflows. The ideal candidate will have experience in LIS management, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in patient care and data integrity. Key Responsibilities: LIS System Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of the Laboratory Information System to support efficient laboratory operations. Technical Support: Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for LIS-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution of problems. User Training: Develop and deliver training programs for laboratory staff to enhance their proficiency with the LIS, ensuring effective use of system functionalities. System Upgrades: Coordinate and implement system upgrades, patches, and enhancements in collaboration with the IT department to maintain system performance and security. Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of laboratory data within the LIS, conducting regular audits and implementing quality control measures. Workflow Improvement: Analyze laboratory workflows and processes, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with industry regulations and standards, ensuring the LIS complies with all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines. Project Management: Lead and participate in LIS-related projects, from planning and development to implementation and evaluation. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Medical Technology, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Laboratory Information Systems in a healthcare setting. Technical Skills: Proficiency in LIS software applications, database management, and interface engines. Familiarity with HL7 standards and laboratory workflows. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively. Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Certifications: Relevant certifications in LIS or healthcare IT are a plus.
