Metal Pattern Fabricator
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Pattern Maker to craft intricate patterns, core boxes, and permanent molds. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in machining, layout, and finishing to produce high-quality components essential to our manufacturing processes. Your work will directly impact the precision and efficiency of our production.
Responsibilities
Execute intricate hand-finishing operations on rough castings, transforming them into precision patterns and molds.
Construct and assemble patterns, core boxes, and permanent molds using diverse materials, ensuring structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.
Precisely lay out and align split sections to create plates, solving complex dimensional relationships and establishing interim dimensions.
Set up and operate various machine tools, including CNC machines, developing custom tooling and setups to meet unique project demands.
Program CNC machining software, such as SolidWorks, to automate and optimize pattern creation processes.
Apply and refine pattern-making techniques, adapting and innovating as needed to overcome challenges.
Conduct meticulous hand and bench operations, including fitting, polishing, and scraping, to achieve exacting finishes.
Verify work against stringent tolerances, create templates, and account for draft, shrinkage, and finish, identifying and resolving discrepancies in prints and specifications.
Qualifications
Required Skills
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of four (4) years of Journeyman-level Patternmaker experience OR Journeyman license.
Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in SolidWorks and Mastercam.
Two years of experience in CNC Programming.
Strong manual machining skills.
Experience with CNC Mill (3-4 axis VMC), CNC Lathe (2-4 axis), and Manual Vertical Mill.
