Role: Biomedical EngineerClient: National Institutes of Health (NIH) – NIALocation: Baltimore, MD 21224Duration: Long-Term ContractMust Have:Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering (Master’s preferred; Bachelor’s + 2 years specialized experience accepted equivalent)Minimum 3+ years of biomedical engineering and machine shop experienceExperience designing, developing, testing, calibrating, and repairing biomedical equipmentHands-on experience with machine shop tools: lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welders, grinders, etc.Knowledge of circuits, quality control procedures, shop safety, and troubleshooting defective equipmentExperience fabricating special-purpose medical/research devicesAbility to interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical specificationsValid Driver’s LicenseMS Office proficiencyNice to Have:Clinical/research equipment support experienceTechnical training or in-service support experienceExperience supporting lab equipment (incubators, treadmills, body measurement machines, etc.)Key Responsibilities:Design/fabricate biomedical and mechanical devicesRepair, calibrate, and maintain lab/clinical equipmentTroubleshoot system malfunctions and perform corrective actionsSupport equipment compliance and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with scientific staff to support research/clinical needsProvide documentation, assessments, and recommendations
