As an employee at Essity, you will belong to a team where you feel valued, are safe, supported to grow and challenged to generate business results in a friendly and open atmosphere.About the RoleEssity Health and Medical Solutions North America is currently seeking a Safety Manager for our Manchester, CT location.As part of the site leadership team (SLT) this critical position will be responsible for: promoting a proactive safety culture that engages all employees, implementing programs that ensure sustainable compliance with applicable regulations and Essity requirements, and driving risk reduction and hazard elimination through continuous improvement processes.What You Will DoLead the site-wide safety culture change by implementing Essity I Care Journey StepsEstablish safety goals, objectives and implementation plan with the SLTDevelop and update all safety policies, procedures, and training modulesCoordinate supervisory and employee safety training and record-keepingLead the coordination of safety communications site-wideImplement a management system that ensures compliance with applicable regulationsCoordinate and participate in the Union/Management Safety Committee meetingsSupervise activities of contract security guard servicesCoordinate safety audits, incident, and accident investigationsManage entry of safety data metrics in the company databaseCoordinate and support machine safety risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis, and pre-job work permit planning to reduce risksLead the contractor management programPerform other essential responsibilities as deemed necessaryWho You AreBachelor's degree with a major in Occupational Safety or a relevant program (preferred)Five plus (5+) years safety management experience (preferred)Ability to develop and implement safety programsAbility to communicate verbally and in written formAbility to motivate employees to work safelyStrong computer and training skillsKnowledge of OSHA regulations and workers compensation lawCompensation and BenefitsAnnual base salary of $100,000 - $145,000 per year, plus an annual incentive bonus and benefits.
