Join our team.Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations. CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling and critical prenatal care.Position Summary:The Senior Certified Medical Assistant – Pediatrics plays a key role in supporting high‑quality care across our Pediatrics and Primary Care departments. In this role, you’ll take the lead on coordinating vaccines for patients of all ages while also performing essential MA responsibilities such as assisting with procedures, taking vitals, and preparing exam rooms.We’re looking for someone with strong pediatric experience, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping families feel supported and cared for. This position includes travel between our four Community Health Center locations to ensure consistent, compassionate service for every patient we serve.Principal Responsibilities:Support the organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of work and fostering positive relationships with co-workersDemonstrate commitment to the CHC’s mission of excellent customer service in all internal and external interactions and in the performance of dutiesCoordinate vaccine administration and maintain vaccine inventory for all patients, ensuring accurate NJIIS documentation and compliance with state guidelinesPerform clinical duties, including pediatric and general MA care: taking vitals, administering injections, assisting with exams and procedures, and preparing exam roomsSupport administrative workflows, including patient scheduling, referrals, and other front- and back-office tasksAssist with onboarding and training MA staff, emphasizing pediatric care and vaccine protocolsTravel between all four CHC locations to ensure consistent patient care and program supportAdhere to agency infection control and safety policies and maintain compliance with organizational standardsParticipate in initiatives to improve patient care, workflow efficiency, and staff collaborationPerform other duties as assigned; omission of specific duties does not exclude responsibilities that are similar, related, or logically assignedJob Competencies & Minimum Qualifications:High School diploma or GEDMedical Assistant Certificate from an approved school2 years of medical assistant experience with prior pediatric and leadership experience preferredExperience with vaccine coordination, EHR, and NJIISFluent in English and Spanish.Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail.Excellent customer service and client services philosophy in all interactions.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively.Valid New Jersey Driver’s license and Auto InsuranceWorking Conditions/Physical Demand: Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, personal automobile, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, and wheelchair.This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the Medical Assistant’s position and it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of experience, skills, efforts, duties, responsibilities, or working conditions associated with the position.In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the total compensation range for this position is USD $30,000.00 to USD $65,000.00.
