About the jobWe are looking for a Desktop Engineering and Security Specialist for our client, a leading global investment management firm. This role is dedicated to maintaining and securing desktop environments within a complex, multi-office financial infrastructure.The Desktop Engineer owns the implementation, support, and security of desktop systems and related infrastructure globally. The position is responsible for device management, troubleshooting, system integration, and supporting security policies to ensure a resilient, compliant desktop environment that supports business operations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage device imaging, configuration, and deployment using SCCM and IntuneSupport hardware and software troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheralsAdminister Group Policy Objects to enforce desktop security and complianceSupport virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environments including Citrix XenApp and DaaSImplement and manage security tools such as Defender, CASB, and CIS BenchmarkingAutomate tasks through scripting, primarily PowerShell, for system maintenanceCoordinate system and software testing, including patching and updatesAssist with data migration, process testing, and system integrationsProvide advanced support for remote and global usersParticipate in on-call rotation for after-hours supportTechnical Skills5+ years in IT support within financial servicesExpertise in Windows desktop, Citrix VDI, and endpoint managementProficient in SCCM, Intune, GPO, PowerShell scriptingExperience with security tools (Defender, CASB, CIS Benchmarks)Familiar with network, storage, and telephony systemsKnowledge of data migration, system testing, and automationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fieldIndustry experience supporting highly regulated financial environmentsThis role will lead efforts to enhance desktop security, streamline system management, and support global users, directly contributing to organizational operational efficiency and security compliance.The Phoenix Group Advisors is an equal opportunity employer.
