Aeronis AB is a Swedish deep-tech company developing intelligent software platforms for AI, edge computing, autonomous systems, distributed sensing, satellite communications, defence, critical infrastructure and industrial applications. We are looking for a highly motivated Lead AI Software Engineer to join our growing team and play a key role in designing, developing and delivering our next generation software platforms. This is a hands‐on technical role where you will lead software development activities while remaining actively involved in software design, architecture and implementation. You will work closely with the CEO, AI specialists, engineers, researchers and external partners to transform innovative concepts into commercially deployable products. Full‐time is preferred; however, flexible or part‐time arrangements will be considered for exceptional candidates during the initial growth phase, with the opportunity to transition into a full‐time leadership role as the company expands. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means delivering robust, scalable and production‐ready software that supports Aeronis' product roadmap and commercial objectives. You will establish engineering best practices, coordinate technical development activities, mentor engineers as the team grows and ensure products are delivered on time, with high quality and strong technical foundations. This role has a direct impact on the company's technology strategy and future engineering organisation. Responsibilities You will be responsible for, but not limited to: Lead the technical development of Aeronis software platforms and products. Design scalable software architectures and define technical roadmaps. Develop high‐quality, production‐ready software. Translate product and customer requirements into technical specifications and engineering tasks. Plan, prioritise and coordinate software development activities. Allocate technical tasks across software engineers, AI engineers and future development teams. Review source code and maintain software quality standards. Manage Git repositories, version control, CI/CD pipelines and software releases. Integrate AI and machine learning capabilities into scalable software platforms. Develop cloud‐native, edge and distributed software solutions. Support software integration with embedded systems and third‐party technologies. Prepare technical documentation, software specifications and engineering reports. Identify technical risks and propose practical mitigation strategies. Support technical proposals, demonstrations, customer pilots and commercial deployments. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high‐performing engineering team. Work closely with management, research partners and customers to ensure successful product delivery. Continuously improve engineering processes, software quality and development practices. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence or a related discipline. Strong experience developing complex software applications and platforms. Experience with C++, Rust, Go or similar modern programming languages. Experience developing AI‐enabled software applications. Experience with distributed systems, cloud computing and scalable software architectures. Strong knowledge of Linux development environments. Experience using Git, GitHub and modern software development workflows. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised deployments. Experience integrating machine learning models into production software. Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
