General Job Duties. Types Of Procedures Required.Circulating nurses who will document and care for patients in the operative setting. This included sterile prepping of surgical sites, catheter insertion, opening sterile supplies, postioning patients for surgical procedures, documenting within an electronic record, and ultilizing/ setting up operating room equipment as directed.Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.Computerized charting modeling after the EPIC system, Accudose, cautery, lasers, laparscopic equipment, arthoscopy equipment, Stealth navigation for Nuero cases.Required Skills And Minimum Years Of Experience.Experience with General surgical cases, GYN, Urology, laparoscopic.Neuro/Ortho procedures, experience with navigation.Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.BLS, RN ND or Compact licenseShift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)Shifts will rotate between 0630-1500, 0900-1700, 1100-1900, and call shifts which are 1100-1900 with call to follow. No nights or weekend call. Travelers are expected to run a room with resources available.Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)noBed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.25 OR suites. 75 to 100 cases per day on averageNurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)1 to 1Dress Codesurgical attire provided. No acrylic nails at all, must be completely bare and natural.Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.Surgical services uses an oreitnation program consisting of 4-6 months. Once the staff member comes off oreination it is anticpated that all core cases and special team cases can be performed with expected outcomes.Additional CommentsRegistered nurses for this request do need to have prior ortho/neuro experience.
