Junior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a hands-on Junior Electrical Engineer to support automation and controls initiatives within a high-volume plastic injection molding manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with equipment, troubleshooting systems, and contributing to the development and improvement of automated production processes.You will support PLC programming, sensor integration, and machine vision systems, while gaining exposure to regulated manufacturing environments and validation processes. This position works closely with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to ensure equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance.Essential Job Functions:Support programming, debugging, and optimization of PLC systems (primarily Keyence Nano PLC)Assist with integration and setup of sensors, actuators, and other automation components on molding and secondary equipmentSupport configuration and troubleshooting of machine vision systems (Keyence and Cognex)Perform and support low-voltage (typically 24V DC) power distribution wiring and panel workRead, interpret, and assist in creating electrical schematics and wiring diagramsParticipate in machine bring-up, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of automated systemsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve equipment issues and improve uptimeAssist with documentation, including work instructions, schematics, and validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ where applicable)Follow company safety standards and support compliance with manufacturing and quality requirementsRequirementsExperience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related fieldBasic knowledge of PLC programming and ladder logicFamiliarity with industrial sensors (e.g., Keyence, Sick, Autonics)Understanding of basic electrical systems, including 24V DC circuitsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagramsStrong troubleshooting skills and a hands-on, problem-solving mindsetEffective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environmentPreferred ExperienceExperience or exposure to plastic injection molding or similar high-volume manufacturing environmentsFamiliarity with Keyence KV Studio or similar PLC programming softwareExperience or familiarity with C# for developing applicationsExperience with machine vision systems (Keyence, Cognex)Exposure to robotics or automated handling systemsBasic understanding of validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ)Familiarity with regulated environments (e.g., GMP, medical device manufacturing)Experience working with controlled documentation and change management processesWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Time is divided between a standard office setting and the manufacturing floorAbility to stand for long periods of time.Able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds.Standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling.Possibility of exposure to noise, uncontrolled temperatures, and chemicals.BenefitsStandard Health, Dental, Vision Benefits.Generous PTO.
