Apply via Dice today!Linux System AdminAllentown, NJ - Need to be on W2Students are welcome to apply 7 days work (9 hours per day ) then 7 days leaveRole SummaryWe are seeking a technically skilled Deployment Technician (Logical) responsible for troubleshooting, configuring, and validating server operating systems, firmware, and logical configurations as part of large-scale data center deployments. This role focuses on system-level readiness, quality assurance, and verification activities to ensure servers meet deployment and operational standards prior to production handoff.Server Configuration & Validation Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Linux TPU and server OS configuration. Validate and verify BIOS/UEFI policies, RAID configurations, and Host Bus Adapter (HBA) settings. Ensure logical system configurations align with deployment standards and documented requirements.Firmware & Operating System Support Perform troubleshooting and issue resolution for firmware and operating system installations. Identify configuration defects, deployment failures, and compatibility issues, escalating as appropriate with detailed diagnostics. Support remediation of system-level issues impacting readiness or performance.Testing, Diagnostics & Quality Assurance Assist with diagnostic and validation test suites to confirm servers meet quality assurance standards prior to deployment. Validate successful completion of test results and document exceptions or failures. Support continuous improvement of validation methodologies and testing effectiveness.Tools & Deployment Platforms Use Google deployment tools to troubleshoot and resolve logical, system-level deployment problems. Follow standardized deployment workflows while identifying opportunities to improve tool usage and reliability.Process Documentation & Continuous Improvement Develop, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for configuration, validation, and troubleshooting activities. Contribute to improvements in consistency, efficiency, and reliability of deployment and validation processes. Document lessons learned, recurring issues, and corrective actions to support operational excellence.Required Skills & Experience Hands-on experience with server OS deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of BIOS/UEFI settings, RAID configurations, and HBA configuration principles. Experience troubleshooting firmware-related and operating system issues in a data center or lab environment. Familiarity with system-level validation and diagnostic testing practices. Ability to follow detailed procedures and accurately document outcomes and exceptions.Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting large-scale or hyperscale server deployments. Familiarity with Google deployment or provisioning tools. Experience working with TPU-enabled systems or specialized compute platforms. Background in continuous improvement, SOP development, or quality assurance processes.Work Environment Requirements Ability to work in a data center or lab environment for extended periods. Flexibility to support deployment schedules, maintenance windows, or surge activities as required. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
