College Access & Success Coordinator
Position Summary:The Postsecondary Pathway Coach is responsible for ensuring every high school senior graduates with a clear, personalized, and actionable plan for life after high school. This role goes beyond traditional advising by helping students identify their strengths, explore career pathways, select aligned postsecondary options (college, trade, or workforce), and build a step-by-step plan to achieve their goals. The Coach serves as both a strategist and accountability partner—ensuring students not only complete required milestones but are confident, prepared, and committed to their future path.Key Responsibilities:Senior Advising & Postsecondary PlanningProvide senior year advising and tracking, including training implementation from internal staff and partner institutionsDevelop detailed postsecondary plans for all seniorsEnsure the successful completion of all college/trade applications aligned with each student’s selected pathwayDrive clarity and commitment to a postsecondary decision aligned with each student’s career goalsCareer & Pathway DevelopmentAdminister and interpret career assessments, including interest, strengths, and personality inventoriesGuide students in selecting a career pathway aligned with their interests, goals, and strengths, including identifying appropriate majors or certificationsEducate students on the return on investment (ROI) of various postsecondary options, including college degrees, technical programs, and tradesProvide insight into labor market trends and in-demand careers, with a focus on opportunities in Palm Beach CountySupport students in evaluating and selecting postsecondary pathways, including college, trade programs, military service, or direct entry into the workforceScholarships & Financial Aid SupportOversee and manage all scholarship opportunities distributed through the State Office and outside agencies, including identification, tracking, and support of eligible students for awards such as Outstanding Senior, Leader for Life, etcSupport students in identifying and applying for additional scholarship opportunitiesCoordinate and host a minimum of two FAFSA workshops to ensure completionEnsure Florida Prepaid accounts are activated for eligible seniorsWorkshops, Events & EngagementPlan and facilitate summer meetings for rising seniorsOrganize and lead at least two senior workshops, including financial literacy sessionsLead coordination efforts for the Senior Summit eventsCollaborate with the coaching team to conduct on-campus meetings (minimum of two meetings per senior)Other duties as assigned. Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support program goals and ensure overall team and organizational success.Data, Communication & TrackingAdminister senior surveys and manage accurate data collection and reportingUtilize a text messaging platform to send proactive, timely communication and reminders to seniors Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree required.3–5 years of experience in student services or college access programs.Strong organizational and data tracking skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesExcellent communication and relationship-building skills with students, families, and school partnersExperience in college access, advising, or student support services preferredMust be able to work some evenings and weekends as needed to support student events and programming.Goal:Drive clarity and commitment to a postsecondary decision that is aligned with each student’s career goals, ensuring every student graduates with a clear, purposeful plan for their future and a defined path to success.
