Olympic View - Instructional Assistant (Preschool) - 3.5hrs. PM #730

Under immediate supervision, performs duties of above average difficulty assisting in the operation of Transitional Kindergarten. May perform a variety of classroom support and clerical duties; and may provide services to students in a language other than English. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Successfully passing the District’s Instructional Assistant/Student Assistant exam, or passing CBEST. U.S. A.A. Experience working with 3-5 year old children; ability to work with staff as part of the team; work as a team member; good communication skills and attention to detail; sufficient strength to lift, move, and/or carry a preschool-aged child up to 40 lbs. and various items in the classroom up to 25 lbs.; hearing sufficient to understand and engage in normal conversations; sufficient visual acuity to read text in a wide variety of typed/written formats and monitor student activities; clarity of speech sufficient to explain instructional concepts to children and discuss them with adults; mobility sufficient to visit other locations throughout the campus.
