Software Engineer

Description?SAIC has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer to maintain, upgrade, and develop as necessary a custom software solution critical to the daily execution of our customer's mission. The current software solution runs as an Apache Web Server that serves SQL database content over a customer provided network. The solution is developed using Python running within an application framework hosting a SQLite database. The Software Engineer candidate will also work within a team to support development of scripts and tools to support data collection and automation of lab-based hardware testing.Roles and Responsibilities:The candidate's role is primarily centered on developing and maintaining software solutions that support test efforts and data collection, as part of a team in a hardware research lab. The candidate will:Perform software maintenance and upgrades to address user concernsPerform testing and debugging ahead of software release to ensure no interruption to operationsProvide support, troubleshooting, and training to end users as necessary in use of systemDevelop emerging team use cases into software as necessaryMaintain configuration control of software and provide release notes with each versionIdentify, communicate, and address risks related but not limited to pending changes in enterprise environment and software compatibilityQualifications?Must currently hold a TS/SCI w/ polyBachelor's degree in computer science or related fieldMinimum of 9 years of relevant experienceDemonstrated proficiency working in and developing in a Python environment using an application framework such as FlaskDemonstrated proficiency with Python, JavaScript, CSS, and SQLExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills; must interact with contractor and customer personnel on a daily basis to include senior personnelMust be able to act independently with minimal oversightREQNUMBER: T2601869SAIC is a premier technology integrator, solving our nation's most complex modernization and systems engineering challenges across the defense, space, federal civilian, and intelligence markets.
