Our Santa Rosa facility is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to perform safe and efficient forklift operations and assigned duties in support of warehousing, bottling line and cellar production demands. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate in a safe and effective manner all forklifts, ‘turn-a-fork attachment(s)’, pallet jacks and/or other equipment as required to perform the movement, loading, unloading of product and materials to and from trucking platforms. Coordinate the movement and staging of cased glass, finished goods and all other materials/products as needed in an organized and accurate manner supporting bottling line and warehousing requirements. Perform Quality Control checks of cased glass and finished goods inventories maintaining accurate inventories by product description, quantities and lot numbers in support of production line demands, finished goods storage and shipments. Process Bill of Lading’s, Pack Slips and Shipping/Receiving documentation and/or other required documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials/products, cased glass, dry goods, winemaking supplies and Hazardous Materials, office supplies and other materials as required in coordination with the Warehouse Manager and other company personnel. Coordinate product staging (Sales Order load building) and Sales Order QC checks of finished goods with the Warehouse Manager &/or Dock Coordinator. Receive, pack & ship sample/lab shipments of finished goods products in support of company requirements. Process UPS, FedEx and/or other carrier non-freight and freight shipments as needed and process appropriate Bills of Lading/Shipping information. Maintain quality pallet inventory stock levels for shipping requirements and pallet exchange with applicable suppliers and carriers. Perform accurate and timely cycle counting of finished and dry goods as required during monthly periodic and year-end inventories. Organize and maintain housekeeping of the dock area, warehouse, packaging and recycled areas internally and externally for cleanliness and orderliness. Support Production with other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Work is usually performed in a warehouse environment. Must be able to pass drug testing. Must be able to lift, pull, push or carry up to 50 pounds. Requires frequent standing, stooping and bending. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Degree or GED or equivalent experience. 1-2 years’ experience driving a forklift required Must be proficient in the safe use of forklifts for dock work of unloading and loading of trailers, trucks and warehousing operations. Attain forklift certification including the use of ‘turn-a-fork’ attachment. Shipping, receiving and warehousing experience. Ability to communicate effectively in oral or written form, in the English language, with customers, company personnel and visitors, contractors, carriers and drivers.
