Insurance Defense Paralegal

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Paralegal to support a busy litigation practice in Houston. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage high-volume casework, and is confident supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation.Key ResponsibilitiesReview and analyze pleadings, discovery, and case-related documents to support legal strategyDraft discovery requests, responses, and objections with minimal supervisionPrepare pleadings and assist with motions, including Motions to Quash and Motions to CompelDraft and manage subpoenasOrder, organize, and maintain medical and case records; track and update discovery logsManage high-volume discovery and ensure deadlines are metPrepare attorneys for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, including assembling comprehensive trial notebooksMaintain case files, calendars, and deadlines within firm systemsQualifications5–7 years of experience as a paralegal in insurance defense litigationStrong knowledge of discovery processes and drafting proceduresExperience supporting cases from inception through trialAbility to manage a high-volume workload with strong attention to detail and organizationProficiency with Adobe Acrobat ProExperience with document management and trial software, including Eclipse and Trial DirectorFamiliarity with PerfectLaw for case management, calendaring, and file maintenance
