Athletic Specialist - Tamarack Day Camp

Make an impact. Lead with energy. Create unforgettable summers. Tamarack Day Camp is seeking enthusiastic, skilled, and energetic Athletic Specialists to join our team for an unforgettable summer. This role is perfect for individuals who love sports, enjoy working with children, and want to be part of a supportive, high-energy camp community. As an Athletic Specialist, you will be responsible for leading daily sports instruction, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating a fun, inclusive environment for campers ages 3-15. You'll work closely with counselors and leadership to deliver engaging, age-appropriate programming that keeps campers active, learning, and excited every day. What You'll Do Lead instruction and skill development in your assigned sport(s) for multiple age groups Create fun, structured, and safe daily lesson plans and games Promote teamwork, confidence, effort, and good sportsmanship Adapt instruction to meet the needs of beginner through advanced athletes Communicate clearly with counselors to help manage groups and transitions Ensure proper use, setup, and storage of athletic equipment Maintain a positive, energetic, and professional presence throughout the day Serve as a role model for campers and younger staff members Schedule & Commitment This position requires full attendance for all 39 days of camp Camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PMJune 29 - August 21No weekends Qualifications Experience playing, coaching, or teaching sports (formal or informal) Enjoys working with children and creating a fun learning environment Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage groups and maintain safety at all times Must be reliable, responsible, and enthusiastic Why Work at Tamarack Be part of a fun, welcoming, and supportive staff community Make a meaningful impact on children's lives Staff events, theme days, and special camp traditions Opportunities for growth, leadership, and advancement Additional paid opportunities may be availableTransportation to camp may be possibleTo apply, please visit tamarackdaycamp.com/staff/ Possible Athletic Specialist Positions Applicants may specialize in one or more of the following areas: Basketball Soccer Baseball Softball Flag Football Lacrosse Hockey Pickleball Biking Archery Skate Job Questions:Will you be living in New Jersey over the Summer (June, July and August)?
