This is a full-time opportunity in a fast-paced automated manufacturing environment offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and growth opportunities.Controls Engineer Job SummaryLocation: Dalton, GASchedule: Monday – Friday (hours may vary based on production support)Design, program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-based control systems, HMIs, robotics, and automated manufacturing equipment. Provide technical support to reduce downtime and improve equipment efficiency. Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and controls documentation. Support the installation, commissioning, and validation of new automation equipment. Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for equipment failures. Train maintenance and production teams on troubleshooting and proper control system usage. Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste. Ensure compliance with NFPA, OSHA, and internal safety and quality standards. Stay current with automation technologies and industry best practices. Controls Engineer QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, OR 5+ years of progressive controls/automation experience. Minimum 3 years of PLC programming experience required. Experience programming and troubleshooting Mitsubishi and Keyence PLCs preferred. Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical documents, and mechanical drawings. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with engineering, maintenance, and production teams. Experience with robotics integration or advanced automation systems is a plus.
