As a Warehouse Order Picker (Breakpack), you’ll help the distribution center meet its goals by selecting product, packing totes, cutting cases of merchandise and stocking product. To help you be successful, you’ll also receive three to eight weeks of on-the-job training.Schedule An Interview ImmediatelyAfter applying, engage in a brief conversation via text (typically same day) to schedule an interviewWe’ll let you know if you’re not eligible to move forwardIn‑person interviews are conducted at the Killingly Distribution CenterPlay an active role in helping your distribution center and your customer win:Retrieve and prep merchandise, stock product, and move full totes and cases onto conveyor beltMeet daily production goalsStack empty pallets in return bays up to eight pallets highUse pallet pulling hook to retrieve stuck pallets of product with a force of 50 lbsUse tools and equipment such as: computer terminal, writing instruments, RF Scanners, Pick to Voice technology, Pick to Cart technology or other methods, depending in specific facility, cutting knife, wheeled cart, U boat, portable ladder, apron, and others as requiredAbility to work in hot environment of approximately 95 degrees F at upper levels during the summer and able to work with seasonal temperature variationsAssist in other departments and perform a variety of other duties as assignedEssential Skills And ExperienceAble to work Monday-Friday 7:00 am- 3:30 pmDemonstrated regular attendance and must have the ability to work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business needAbility to lift, lower, push, pull or carry product up to a maximum of 62 lbs. by hand, and work at average heights of up to 8-9 feet, but up to 30 feet at times, and around a conveyor belt systemPerform moderate physical effort and use of motor skills requiring manual dexterity, regularly stand, walk, stoop, kneel, pull/push, twist, reach, climb ladders, and crouchAbility to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices to avoid injury and damage to product within our safety cultureAbility to walk and stand 100% of the timeAble to work with moderate noise levels and operate warehouse equipmentBasic English language, reading, and writing skills; basic math and data entryDetail-oriented, ability to follow directions, and collaborate with other team membersPass a background check and drug screenStaples does not sponsor applicants for work visas for this positionPreferred Skills And ExperienceHigh School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experienceThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
