Area Supervisor

Area SupervisorThe Area Supervisor is primarily responsible for a designated area in which they will coach field employee performance through site observations, build positive client relationships, oversee pre-construction planning and management, as well as promote the safety and quality standards of the organization, while acting in accordance with company values, vision and mission.ResponsibilitiesManages a team of outside field personnelDirect work to at least two or more other full-time employeesHas the authority to hire and fire other employeesEstablish and build relationships with direct reports through monthly job site visitsResponsible for conducting annual performance reviews and supporting employee developmentDaily travel to job site locations; observations and associated reporting based on designated areaBuild positive client, State DOT and Local Municipal relations within designated areaResponsible for pre-construction management process including client meetings, internal job leads meetings and other communication as requiredServe as subject matter expert for internal office staff with regards to order requirements such as personnel and equipment needsMeet with Field Manager on daily/weekly basis to review Crew Leaders's and Advanced Crew Leader's performance and associated metricsComplete and submit daily reporting by way of work zone observationsAssist the safety department with the investigation of incidents when requestedResponsible for fleet telematics and related driver coachingProfessionally represent the organization to clients, employees and the publicSubmission of HR requests and subsequent delivery of related discipline, in accordance with company guidelines and established timelinesWork collaboratively and communicate frequently with other departmentsMake recommendations to Field Manager for field staff promotions as neededConduct, attend and participate in various department meetings as necessaryConduct random quarterly, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug testsSuccessful completion of Area Supervisor Job Training Program and required continuing educationIn addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to act in accordance with company values, vision and mission, to exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workers, demonstrate leadership, maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, demonstrate a positive attitude, communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, work with accuracy, efficiency and close attention to detail, maintain good attendance by working when and where directed, respect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possible and exercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks.
